Welcome to the 'I Want Online Now!' newsletter.  I will try to avoid any hype, whatsoever.  If any of you notice me starting to sound like one of those so-called gurus out there, please let me know.  I would prefer you do it nicely, of course.

This newsletter contains ongoing lessons and articles about running an online business.  Please feel free to send in any suggestions you have, i.e., lessons you've learned the hard way since you've been online.  Maybe between us all, we can help others make the move to the internet without losing everything they own.

This is a weekly newsletter,  published on Mondays.  There will also be a classifieds only issue that comes out on Fridays, as soon as my life has stabilized!  In addition, we will be running solo ads whenever they come in.   Both the classified ads issue and the solo ads will have free ad contests.  One of the solo ads each week will contain an ad code.  The first person to submit the ad code and their ad to me will receive a free top sponsor ad.  Submit the ad code and ad to admin@i-want-online-now.com.

If there is one program I believe in more than any other, it's the No Bull Club.  Gina Sprenkle is the most honest business owner I've ever worked with, not to mention very internet savvy.  I first met her when I ordered traffic from her for one of my MLM programs.  She sent me an email letting me know that I would be wasting my money!  Her program wouldn't work for what I had planned.  She explained to me what I needed to do in order to make it work.  I was absolutely amazed that she took the time to explain things that I, as a newbie, didn't understand, especially since she lost business in the short term.  I urge you to check it out and see if you agree that this is a fantastic program!

Publisher's Corner

Hi  Everyone!

Can you believe it? No problems with the newsletters this week!  It's a good thing, because I spent most of the week doing family stuff.  That was the whole point of working from home, remember?  

I started working on my fee-based version of Coping Today Newsletter, and planning a members area for I-Want-Online-Now.com.  I found some great stuff to put in the members area, including some of Mark Joyner's package.  I also found more things to put on the free part of the website.  I just wish I had about 10 more hours in each day, or at least a second person to take some of the work!   

It's really funny, I work all day long most of the time, usually starting around 8:00 am and ending around midnight, yet I enjoy it more than the full-time jobs I worked for the last 25 years. One reason is that I can walk away and take care of family things when I need to, without feeling guilty, or getting a lecture.

This Week's Lesson

Writing a Newsletter

Last week we discussed coming up with a theme for your newsletter.  If you missed that issue, I suggest you go back and read it before continuing.  

Your next step is to decide what you want to put into the newsletter, besides articles.  It appears to be industry standard to have top, middle, bottom, and classified ads.  The top sponsor ad is the most expensive, followed by middle and bottom, and the classified ad section is always free, if you include it.  Because it's a standard, you'll find that it will be easier to sell the ad space if you follow it.  

Between those ads, you will want to put your articles and whatever else you include.  In this, you're free to play.  I suggest that you keep the number of things you have to make up yourself to a minimum, unless you love to write and research.  As I said in the last lesson, the only part of this newsletter that I write myself is the lesson.  The rest of the newsletter is made up of articles I've found.  

Of course, you should always have a publisher's section.  This is the part where you tell your subscribers about yourself.  Keep them apprised of what's going on in your life.  Your readers like knowing that you're human.  

You should include a section that lets your readers know about any important activities or changes to your newsletter.  This includes contests, where to get information, how to contact you, etc.  

If you're doing a one page newsletter, one article and one section other than the publisher's corner and the news, is probably sufficient.  I prefer to give my subscribers more articles.  It also allows me to break up the classified ads section so that there aren't so many ads on one page.

If you haven't read my other newsletter, Coping Today Newsletter, check it out for an example of other types of information you might include in your newsletter.  Also, it's always useful to subscribe to several different newsletters to see how they set theirs up.  Subscribe to several.  Pick a few that you really enjoy, and see what it is about them that makes them better.  

For Coping Today, I write three sections myself.  I purchase books on herbs and nutrition to help in writing my 'Food For Thought' section, and I search the internet looking at sites to review for the 'Program Review' section.  Then I have to somehow come up with some idea for the 'Pamper Yourself' section.  Sometimes, I have to get up and leave for awhile before I can think of something for that section.  Aaarghh.   Imagine having several newsletters that you have to write parts of.  I'm willing to bet, once you get started, you'l start thinking of other subjects you'd like to write about.
